PICTURES: Inverness MasterChef finalist cooks up a storm with new book at Highland launch
Foodies of Inverness and surroundings were treated to a tasty evening as city-born cook Sarah Rankin hosted a special event to launch her first book.
The MasterChef 2022 finalist, who is based in Kinross, published Kith in April and held a presentation event at An Talla at Dochgarroch last night (May 3).
During the evening she took the audience through three recipes from the book and spoke about her life after the TV show and about the importance of shopping for local, seasonal food - an element at the heart of her book.
Talking after the event, Sarah said: “It’s so lovely to bring it back to Inverness, especially to An Talla as they have supported me from the very beginning.
“This is where I had my first post-Masterchef event and they have always welcomed me, it’s really special and I love what they do here.
“It feels crazy to be standing here and signing copies of my book. I feel like someone is going to pat me on the shoulder and tell me that this is all a mistake and I shouldn’t be doing it. I am thoroughly enjoying the experience!”
The cook and writer will be busy with her launch tour and will be attending some of Scotland’s most prestigious book events this year, from the Edinburgh International Book Festival to Wigtown and Borders Book Festival - more details will be posted on Sarah’s website and social media in the near future .
“It’s going to be a really exciting summer of talking about food, which is obviously my favourite thing!”
Her book Kith is available in most bookshops at £25.
