The local group teamed up with four other Rotary and Inner Wheel groups to host a special charity day.

Hosting 20 different stalls on Inverness High Street on Saturday the clubs footed all associated costs so the charities could focus on spreading awareness of their causes.

One participating charity was the Robert Andrew Munro Foundation (RAM), set up to raise awareness and funds towards medical research into Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG).

The charity’s founders lost their 13-year-old son Bobo to the disease.

His dad, Mark Munro, said: “We are grateful for being invited by the Rotary Club to set up a charity stall for RAM Foundation and thankful to all those who stopped by our stall to learn about our son Robert’s (Bobo) fight against childhood brain cancer.”

President of the Inverness Loch Ness Rotary Club Ormond Smith said: “The day went very well. We had good footfall and the charities I spoke to felt they benefited from the day and hopefully that will increase their public support. We’re here to help and to help the local community and felt that this was a good way of doing it.”

There was also music from the British Legion Pipe Band.
