PICTURES: Inverness city centre almost deserted on a Saturday night

Only a handful of pedestrians were in Inverness city centre at 9pm last night – the first night after pubs, restaurants and several other types of business were told to shut in a bid to contain the spread of coronavirus.

Taxi drivers, buses and emergency services were seen but the usual nightlife was missing.

It is not known when businesses will be allowed to reopen.
