A triumphant evening saw the Inverness-based Highland Voices choir in fine voice for a final bow at The Ironworks.
With the Inverness venue soon to close there was a poignant undercurrent to a wonderful performance led by acclaimed opera singer and tenor Tony Henry. The show, three days before Christmas, ended an Ironworks association dating back to 2017.
“I thought it was really well received and the best we’ve sounded,” Mr Henry said. “They were spreading the joy, really, and it became infectious for all those watching.”
Special guests included the last two Ness Factor winners, Gregor Matheson from last year and Caroline Devine from 2019, while Torridon singer Kenny Smith co-hosted the event and also performed.
“It really brought home to us all that this would be our very last Ironworks performance. There is genuine sadness about that,” Mr Henry said.
“We have lots of wonderful memories from performing there and it really helped solidify us as a choir.
“It really is irreplaceable as a venue.”
