Model railway enthusiasts flocked to Inverness for a two-day exhibition in the Highland capital at the weekend.

Inverness and District Model Railway Club's annual exhibition attracted exhibitors and traders from across the region to the Leonardo Hotel in Millburn Road.

The show featured a range of working layouts in a variety of scales: N, OO, hO and O. The two-day event also included a number of trader stands, which gave people to buy their own locomotives and rolling stock, and a variety of modelling materials and components.

And organisers were very pleased with the response from the public, with Saturday proving "very busy" at times, and the Sunday posting a "healthy" turnout.

The club's Brian Marshall said: "It was very busy on the Saturday. There were times when the room was pretty much full. Even the Sunday was quite healthy.

"I think everybody felt it went well".

Dr Marshall thanked the traders who supported the event as well, and also gave a shout out to Elgin Model Railway Club, which was among those who brought model railway layouts to entertain visitors.
