Updates on Church of Scotland Guild’s work with chosen charities were shared at a gathering in Inverness.
A total of 109 guests from across the Highlands went to the Kingsmills Hotel for the afternoon tea event.
It allowed Moray Firth guilds to share what they had done to help these causes:
- Home for Good, which helps find homes for vulnerable children.
- Beat, which helps individuals and families affected by eating disorders.
- UNIDA, which helps to extend education to low-income families in Brazil.
- Starchild, which helps those with intellectual and physical disabilities in Uganda.
- Vine Trust, which provides aid to impoverished communities in Tanzania and Peru.
- Chocolate Heaven partnered with Pioneers UK, which aims to promote Christianity through chocolate.
The event was finished with a reading of Psalm 121 and hymns. Moray Firth Guilds Together convenor Heather Macdonald was pleased with the turnout, adding: “Everyone said how much they had enjoyed their afternoon of fellowship.”
A follow-up event is planned for April next year in one of the Presbytery’s churches.
