Choirs from across Scotland and Northern Ireland were in Inverness last weekend for a special gathering

As part of the 35th Inverness Festival of Male Voice Praise, more than 200 people headed to the city’s East Church on Saturday to enjoy gospel sounds from choirs attending from Glasgow, Moray, Peterhead and Northern Ireland as well as Inverness.

The free event included words from guest speaker Pastor Kenny Wilson and guest artists John Alexander Wilson and Friends.

The evening begun with We Sing of Jesus followed by a welcome and prayer by Tom Simpson.

The 60 singers were accompanied by pianist Karen Young.

Organisers held collections for charities Bear Necessities and Highland Hospice.

Ernie Collinson, events co-ordinator for the Highland choir, said: “It was extremely well supported. The 60 choir men was a very powerful sound.

“It was a very enjoyable evening of Christian fellowship and it was certainly an emotionally charged evening. We were absolutely delighted with the support we got.”
