A top Inverness hotel’s seventh annual golf day has driven a record-breaking sum into Highland Hospice coffers.
Kingsmills’ competitors battled bunkers and bogeys to raise an above-par £66,970 total – their best yet – for the cancer care charity.
The event on Friday last week began early in the morning at Royal Dornoch Golf Course with 28 four-person teams participating.
An evening celebration, auction and prize-giving followed at the Kingsmills Hotel.
Karen Duff, Highland Hospice’s corporate fundraiser, said: “We are so grateful to the Kingsmills Hotel for their continued incredible support. The Golf Day this year was just phenomenal.
“Since 2014 the hotel has raised over £300,000 for the Hospice which is absolutely outstanding and we can’t thank the team there enough for all that they do to support the Hospice.”
Craig Ewan, general manager of the Kingsmills Hotel, said: “We are delighted with how the Kingsmills Golf Day went and to be able to raise such a significant amount for Highland
Hospice, a charity close to all our hearts.
“The sun was shining in Dornoch and a great day was had by all, made even better by the fantastic hot dogs and burgers provided by Bubble and Goose Hospitality halfway along the course.
“We can only thank all the local businesses who submitted a team and donated prizes to our auction – we couldn’t run this event without all of their incredible support.”
The tournament this year was won by Highland Office Supplies, who held a NET score of 51.95 and accepted their award at the prize-giving dinner.
Returning to the Kingsmills Hotel, the evening was hosted by Alex Fleming.
The date of the 2023 Golf Day in aid of Highland Hospice has already been decided on as Friday September 22.
