A Black Isle community which has blazed a trail in bridging the generation gap raised a glass to the success of the initiative at a very special get-together.
The Black Isle Cares group, which has played a key role identifying and helping to fill in gaps in provision for older people in the area, has forged strong links with Fortrose Academy down the years with a range of initiatives which include regular board games days at the school.
This week, a get-together at the Free Church Hall in Fortrose was reason enough for raising a glass to celebrate the connections which have been made.
Big-hearted pupils and community volunteers hosted the Christmas lunch for local seniors. At the heart of the effort was chef Alistair Hamilton and his wife Jill.
Fortrose Chip Shop, Fortrose Cafe, IV10 and Lynsay at Chanterelle all contributed towards the success of the event along with Munro the butcher.
The Free Church in Fortrose offered the use of its hall for the event which was well received across the generations.
Fortrose pupils have established regular board games with seniors at the school.
