A FUNDRAISING event to support an Inverness charity was a huge success.

Claire O’Brien (45) organised the Ladies’ Day Out at the Waterside Hotel for charity Special Needs Action Project (Snap), which supports young people with learning disabilities, raising £2392.

The focus was on canapés, pamper treatments, craft stalls and a dress sale, with 200 dresses donated for the day.

Ms O’Brien said: “I am absolutely delighted so grateful for help, kindness and generosity of everyone involved. It was lovely to see everyone smiling and having fun while raising awareness for Snap.”

Ms O’Brien and her son Rory (11), who suffers from severe autism, have been using Snap services for years at its base in Drummond Primary School.

Ms O’Brien decided to help the charity which has been going through financial struggles recently.

“I couldn’t possibly have done this without everyone’s help,” she said. “It’s a great amount raised but we still have to raise more and I am hopeful local people or businesses who will offer help to Snap.”
