More than 100 protestors in Inverness called on COP26 to take drastic measures.

Extinction Rebellion (XR) protestors from across the Highlands held a symbolic 'die in' at Falcon Square to raise awareness of the catastrophic impact of rising temperatures.

Organisers said that in spite of the inclement weather, they were thrilled with the numbers of people who took part in the rally.

A spokesperson for Highland XR said: "We had about 100 people marching through Inverness and listening to speeches and singing with talented singer Fi Macbean from Forres.

"We also had a drama from young people Calli and Shanna Gibb, who roped in their dad to take part.

"It took real commitment for people to come out on a stormy wet day like Saturday and we got our message across together that it’s climate action, not empty words, that will save Inverness from climate catastrophe."
