A blast of wintry weather in the Inverness area has brought 2020 to a chilly conclusion.

Motorists along with bus and lorry drivers faced challenging conditions with ice and snow on the roads yesterday.

But for others, it was a chance to get outdoors to enjoy the picturesque scenes created by the blanket of snow.

Highland News & Media photographer Gary Anthony was out and about capturing these scenes.

The BBC weather is forecasting light rain showers and a moderate breeze today while tomorrow will see sunny intervals and a gentle breeze.
