Kids in Inverness got to celebrate World Book Day at school and libraries

Children across Inverness celebrated the 25th anniversary of World Book Day with pages of activities.

High Life Highland hosted a range of events across its large network of libraries, including Inverness Library.

The staff played games including a treasure hunt, read stories and hosted a special themed Bookbug session.

Network librarian Asuka McKenna said: “We had a fantastic World Book Day at Inverness Library with a treasure hunt for children and Bookbug also celebrated World Wildlife Day.

“It was great to be able to celebrate World Book Day in our libraries again this year and for us to be able to promote reading for pleasure.”

Pupils at Dalneigh Primary also took part in the fun as they went to school in their PJs accompanied by their favourite bedtime story.

There were lots of activities including outdoor paired reading, class challenges to see who could create the best book covers, visits from Inverness Caley Thistle Community Group and video-recorded stories from Dan and Grace at MFR.
