AN award-winning pub enjoyed a successful beer and music festival over the bank holiday weekend.

The Bandstand Festival in Nairn returned to full strength this year after Covid restrictions, with six days of beer, music and great food.

Now in its fourteenth year the festival has become a regular event in Nairn as the largest independent beer festival in Scotland with The Bandstand recently awarded the CAMRA Highlands and Western Isles Pub of the Year 2022 title.

Owner Paul Geddes: said “The beer festival is the highlight of our year and this year exceeded all expectations. Wonderful music from local artists and great beer – with a focus on many micro breweries from across Scotland.

"The highlight was Saturday afternoon with Stein Brass from Elgin entertaining a packed beer garden with traditional and modern oompah tunes.”

Paul Geddes, owner of the Bandstand got into the spirit of things wearing traditional Lederhosen to celebrate German beers at the festival.

He added: “The festival wouldn’t be possible without the hard work and dedication of our amazing team, and over seventeen volunteer staff, mostly locals of the bar, who gave up their time to help.”
