FAMILY fun in the sun against a stunning Highland backdrop has raised around £5000 for a Highland cause.

The Foulis Castle annual Daffodil Tea was organised by volunteers and supporters of The Archie Foundation (Highland).

The castle is the seat of the Clan Munro, and the Daffodil Tea is a well-loved family event featuring live music, face painting, Highland dancing, stalls, refreshments, story-telling, inflatables, children’s fun rides and more – all while visitors pick their own daffodils from the castle grounds.

Fiona Sellar, Archie supporter and organiser of the event, said: "The day was a great success – beautiful weather welcomed a wonderful crowd of visitors who enjoyed the many stalls, live music tent, Highland dancing and refreshments.

"The Dingwall Fire and Rescue Service generously agreed to make an appearance, and children and adults alike were excited at the arrival of the appliance.

"The large inflatable slide, the fun ride and the Bucking Bronco proved a great hit with the children while others relaxed in the courtyard to the sounds of story-telling, an accordion and clarinet duo, as well as Latin American songs with guitar accompaniment from Coca Tenorio. A specially formed group, Singing For Archie, performed popular hits known to many of the onlookers who were happy to sing along.

"The Archie Foundation is delighted to have had the opportunity to be involved with such a positive and long-established Highland family event. On behalf of The Archie Foundation, I wish to extend a huge thank you to the volunteers and all those who contributed to the event. Without this help, the event would not be possible.”
