Best photographs of 2021 showcase all manner of local life in the Inverness area

The retirement of a long-standing member of the Inverness business community, known to many, sits alongside scenes from two frightening accidents and a touching and powerful tribute and call for action in today’s selection of some of the best images captured by our photographers throughout 2021.

Also featured are the conclusion of a gruelling charity challenge, a political party leader’s visit to the Highland capital, a striking image from the Inverness Courier Wedding Fair, which took place for the first time in two years in 2021, and a joyful image of two friends having fun in the sun – hopefully the kind of weather that will return before too long!
