Morrisons Inverness Community Champions make donations in the Highlands towards Merkinch Primary - company thanks people for donating its 'pick up' packs
Inverness Morrisons Supermarket handed out a van-full of donations to Merkinch Primary School.
Thanks to the store's "pick up pack" donations which are available in store and make it easy for people to help those in need, with packs priced between £1 and £3.
On the group's Facebook page, a spokeswoman said: "The fabulous Sophie and Kelly delivered a van full of donations round to Merkinch Primary this morning, this is made up of Morrisons company donations and customer donations and will hopefully help see folk through the Christmas period.
"Thank you so much for continuing to help the local community by purchasing our pick up packs as you enter the store."
In Morrisons supermarket customers can purchase pre-packed bags of groceries designed around the needs of local food banks.
The pick up packs cost between £1 and £3 and contain a mix of food products that have been requested by the local food bank based on their local needs.
The packs are the brainchild of Morrisons colleague Michelle Leary from Basingstoke, who noticed that customers struggled with what to donate to food banks.
The pre-packed parcels mean that customers don’t need to spend time browsing the shelves for items to donate.
After a successful trial, they were rolled out nationally.
