Person 'traced safely' after incident at A96 Findhorn Bridge near Forres

A PERSON has been traced safely after an incident that saw the A96 closed at the Findhorn Bridge for more than six hours.

The road was closed at around 5.30pm on Monday, July 17, and remained shut until midnight, with emergency services on the scene.

Police, who were at the scene, confirmed that the closure was in relation to a concern for a person, who has been traced safely.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) were also in attendance with two appliances.

An SFRS spokesperson said: “We supported emergency service partners at an incident at Findhorn Bridge in Forres on the A96.

“Operations Control mobilised two appliances and other specialist resources to the area after the alarm was raised at 5.35pm on Monday, July 17.

“Police Scotland attended and assisted with road traffic management. Crew left the scene at 11.56pm after ensuring the area was made safe.”

Drivers on the A96 were diverted via the A940 and A939 for the duration of the road closure.
