ScotRail passengers face delays and disruption on north Highland line between Inverness and Wick

Train passengers are facing significant disruption between Inverness and Wick with part of the north line closed for urgent repairs.
ScotRail is warning that all services on the route could cancelled, delayed or revised until late tomorrow at the earliest.
The chaos comes with work under way to restore damaged track between Helmsdale and Brora.
A spokesman said: “Because of urgent repairs to the railway between Helmsdale and Brora, the line is currently closed.
“At this stage, we have no definitive timescale for the repair and for the line to re-open.
“Further staff will be onsite today to verify the solution and timescales.”
But the rail operator said all Scotrail tickets for the route would be made valid on Stagecoach North bus services between Inverness and Wick, at no extra cost.
Among the earliest services affected, the 7am Inverness to Wick train due at 11.31am will now terminate at Lairg, no longer calling at stations further north.
The 12.34pm Wick to Inverness service due 5.06pm will now terminate at Helmsdale and no longer call at stations further south.
A similar pattern of disruption will hit services later in the day and tomorrow.
