EasyJet flight from Inverness to London Gatwick cancelled

Air passengers due to take an early morning flight from Inverness to London today were hit by its cancellation.

The affected flight was the 6.45am EasyJet service to London Gatwick.

Passengers travelling with the airline have faced disruption in recent weeks with thousands of EasyJet flights being cancelled – some at short notice – or delayed, including services from Inverness.

One passenger due to get the flight, tweeted that his onward EasyJet flight from Gatwick to Nantes had been cancelled with less than 12 hours notice.

The aviation sector shed thousands of jobs during the coronavirus pandemic, but is now struggling to meet the rebound in demand for travel.

Late last month, EasyJet said it would be making some cancellations over the summer, to build in more resilience and in response to caps imposed by London Gatwick and Amsterdam Schiphol airports.
