A party turned violent when a 21-year-old man thought a teenage boy had been sexually assaulted by the host.

Logan Williamson, a Polmont prisoner, attacked the resident of a property in Mackintosh Road, Inverness on March 1 last year, leaving him with multiple injuries following a flurry of punches.

Inverness Sheriff Court was told the victim sustained facial bruising, a nasal fracture and dislocation in the assault to severe injury, which Williamson admitted.

Fiscal depute David Morton said the teenager’s crotch area was touched as the party host reached out to grab the youngster’s wrist, to escort him out the door.

Defence solicitor Gary Foulis said: “It was an unsavoury incident.

“Clearly a lot of alcohol had been taken.

“It was a mistaken belief that the boy had been sexually assaulted when he hadn’t.”

Sheriff Matheson imposed a 12-month sentence but backdated it to June 16.
