Part of Old Edinburgh Road in Inverness to be closed for Scottish Water maintenance work

A partial road closure will be in place as repair work is carried out in Old Edinburgh Road, Inverness next week.

Scottish Water will be carrying out repair work to a manhole cover on Wednesday, January 15.

The work will be carried out by contractor Kier between 9.30am and 3.30pm to avoid peak time traffic.

A road closure will be in place on Old Edinburgh Road between Hilton Avenue and Ross Court, with a signposted diversion via Balloan Road, Culduthel Road, Muirfield Road and Muirfield Lane.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

A Scottish Water spokesperson said: "We would like to thank customers and road users for their patience and understanding while this essential repair work is completed. Our team on site will be working to keep disruption to a minimum, but we apologise for any inconvenience caused."
