Parking permit charges rise 10 per cent in Inverness and Lochaber

PARKING permit prices in Inverness have jumped 10 per cent with immediate effect, Highland Council has announced.
The increase, which was agreed as part of the council’s annual budget, will see residential permit prices rise from £50 to £55 per year. The price for senior citizens will rise from £25 to £27.
Business parking permits will jump from £160 to £176.
“The price increase affects all Highland Council parking permits and season parking tickets in Inverness and Lochaber and includes contract bays at the Rose Street multi-storey car park in Inverness,” said a council spokeswoman.
“Where parking charges apply, blue badge holders are exempt. Where disabled badge holders previously received free residents parking permits this will continue to remain free of charge.
