PUPILS and staff of a popular performing arts school in Inverness have spoken of their delight at having the chance to get back on stage for the festive run of Eden Court’s pantomime.

After two years of being unable to be involved due to Covid the junior ensemble of TFX Performing Arts academy returned as cast members in the recent run of Peter Pan.

One of them was Amy Beattie, one of the students awarded with a scholarship in partnership with the Inverness Courier earlier this year.

Peter Pan was on stage at Eden Court between December 2022 and January 2023.

Amy, who previously performed in Eden Court’s production of Beauty and the Beast in 2019 and in Inverness Musical Theatre’s staging of Legally Blonde last year said it was great to also get on stage for Peter Pan.

She said: “My favourite part of the show was definitely the fun that we have backstage and the thrill before going on to perform numbers that vary from singing to dancing to acting.

"2022 has been an eventful year for me in terms of the theatre and I’m hoping 2023 will be just as action-packed!”

TFX’s head of dance, Claire Darcy, started performing in the annual panto from the age of seven and also took on choreography duties for this year’s production.

She said: “It was great to be back with a full cast this year including the 30 junior ensemble members who we have missed over the last three years!

“For most of them it was their first time performing in the pantomime and I was very proud to watch them as their choreographer shine on stage.”

She added: “They performed to full houses nearly every show and I know they are really missing it already, but for our TFX students they have lots to look forward to with Strictly and Show rehearsals already under way.”
