Motorists and residents are advised that, due to the public holiday for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s funeral, the surfacing improvements planned for the A82 at Achnahannet south of Drumnadrochit have been rescheduled.

The improvements were scheduled to begin on Sunday for six nights but the work will now start on Tuesday for six nights between 7pm and 7am.

No work will take place on Friday or Saturday and all work is expected to be complete by 7am Wednesday, September 28, subject to weather conditions.

A spokesman said: "Traffic management will remain as originally programmed; to ensure the safety of roadworkers as well as motorists, a 10mph convoy system will be in place during working hours. The convoy system will be removed outwith working hours; however, a 30mph speed limit will be in place outwith working hours as traffic will be travelling over a temporary surface.

"All relevant stakeholders have been informed of the changes."
