Orkney votes No with 67% share of vote

Orkney voted roughly 2-1 in favour of the No camp.

ORKNEY has voted in favour of the No camp in the independence referendum.

Just over 10,000 people voted for No (10,004) with Yes claiming 4,883. Twenty ballots were rejected as spoiled.

Voter turnout was 83.7 per cent.

With two of the 32 council areas declared, Yes has 21,233 votes (42 per cent) and No has 29,040 (58 per cent).
