INTERNATIONAL recruitment organisation the Orion Group has not had to look far for its latest senior appointment, with Ross MacRae's promotion to the position of group deputy managing director.

Mr MacRae is in his ninth year with the business and will retain his role as HR director.

Welcoming the appointment, group MD Paul Savage commented: "It is important that our growth and diversification is maintained with appropriate levels of governance and oversight. With nearly 30 years of experience across HR and recruitment operations, Ross provides excellent guidance, knowhow and support across our business. I am delighted that Ross has accepted this key role and look forward to working with him on our various initiatives across the group."

Mr MacRae, who was previously HR director with the Wood Group and has also worked for Subsea 7 and Halliburton, confirmed his delight with the promotion.

"Orion is a great organisation to work for with such a dedicated and loyal staff," he said.

"I am very happy to continue my long association with the company and look forward to supporting the achievement of our business goals."

Established in Scotland in 1987, Orion Group has achieved consistent growth over the ensuing 27 years and is now an international leader in the provision of personnel to the engineering industry, managing placements of over 5000 contractors every year via its worldwide network of offices.

Following continued year on year growth, the company is on target expect to exceed $1 billion annual sales in the very near future.
