A man banned from approaching his ex-partner in 2019 after a campaign of domestic abuse went to visit her earlier this month.

Blair Mackay (52) of Dal of Borlum, Drumnadrochit, was drunk when he arrived at the woman’s home in Conon Bridge on January 12.

Inverness Sheriff Court heard she was not there but the door was unlocked and Mackay let himself in and waited for her.

When she returned Mackay was told he was not welcome and the police were called.

Mackay appeared from custody and admitted breaching the court order imposed on August 28, 2019.

Solicitor advocate Neil Wilson said a report would be required and sentence was deferred until February 17.
