MEMBERS of Highland Council’s Gaelic committee have heard how education has continued throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

During lockdown, a blog was created to enable early learning practitioners to support families, with online ‘Bitesize’ training sessions also due to go live for practitioners to support them in their training requirements to deliver immersion learning.

A range of online resources to support pupils and their parents at home has also been created with partners and is available on the council’s digital learning hub.

Committee chairman Calum Munro said: “I commend our Gaelic education and development staff for all their continuous ongoing hard work to progress the council’s commitments for Gaelic. Their creativity and partnership working have paid dividends for pupils, parents and teachers as resources and training have been provided to support all.”
