There have been no additional confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Highlands in the past 24 hours, new figures have shown.

It means the region has had no new recorded cases for seven days in a row. It is the longest period without a registered case in the region since the start of the outbreak.

The total registered by NHS Highlands remains at 377. The number of people being treated in hospital with confirmed Covid-19 is fewer than five, and so is the number of virus patients in intensive care.

A total of 21 more people have tested positive across Scotland in the last 24 hours, taking the national total to 18,422.

And 2491 people who tested positive have died across the country since the outbreak began – the same as yesterday.

Elsewhere in the north, NHS Grampian had two new cases since yesterday, taking its tally to 1435. Its hospitals were treating 31 people for the disease, with fewer than five virus patients receiving treatment in intensive care.
