Police continue inquiries after one-car crash in Inverness

Police are investigating a crash in Merkinch.

Inquiries are continuing after the occupants of a car fled the scene of a crash in an Inverness neighbourhood.

The incident happened outside the William Hill betting shop in Grant Street on Saturday about 10.40pm.

The one-vehicle crash involved a grey Ford Focus.

A spokesman for Police Scotland was unable to say how many occupants were in the car and said inquiries were ongoing.

A spokesman for William Hill said there was no damage to the property and that the business on Sunday was not affected.

In a separate incident, a 61-year-old has been charged with road traffic offences following a one-car crash at Caulfield Road, Cradlehall.

The incident, reported at 9.15pm on Saturday, involved a red Renault Megane.
