A ward closed after an outbreak of norovirus has reopened at Raigmore Hospital

A WARD at Raigmore Hospital closed earlier this month following an outbreak of norovirus has now reopened.

Ward 2A was closed to new admissions on December 1 after patients began showing symptoms of the virus that includes nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea.

Once all cases had cleared up the ward then had to go through a deep cleaning and was finally reopened on Friday afternoon.

Advice remains for people to stay away from the hospital if they have symptoms, or live with someone displaying symptoms, until they have been clear for at least 48 hours.
