Independence Referendum, Scotland Decides

THE first council area to declare in the independence referendum has been won by the No camp.

The vote for No in Clackmannanshire was 19,036, with the Yes camp getting 16,350 votes.

Twenty-four ballot papers were rejected.

The result means 54 per cent of voters chose No to 46 per cent who went with Yes.

Voter turnout was 88.6 per cent.
