MOTORISTS face further night-time disruption on the road out to Culloden this week.

A section of the B9006 Culloden Road was closed in Inverness for five hours last night while essential Scottish Water work was carried out.

The closure, which lasted from 7pm to 11.59pm, closed the road between the entrance to Ardtower Caravan Park and the junction with Leanach Gardens.

It will also take place between those same hours over the coming four nights.

A Highland Council spokesman said: "The closure is required to enable a contractor, working on behalf of Scottish Water, to safely carry out pipe laying works which will take place over give consecutive evenings to minimise disruption. The works started on Monday and will remain in effect until Friday.

"Access will be maintained for pedestrians and alternative routes will be available for all other traffic affected by this closure."
