NHS Highland staff now paid, health body confirms

And an inquiry is underway to establish the cause of the blunder that left many of its 10,000 staff unpaid on Monday.

The board has confirmed that everyone had been paid today.

But the error is believed to have left a number of people facing bank charges due to a lack of resources to pay standing orders and direct debits.

A health board spokeswoman said: “We’re in the process of a review to understand why this happened and ensure that this doesn’t occur again.”
