NHS Highland confirms ward 5C at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, will remain closed over the weekend

A WARD at Raigmore Hospital will remain closed over the weekend after an increase in the number of patients suffering with diarrhoea and vomiting.

Ward 5C was closed to new patients on Wednesday following the outbreak.

An NHS Highland spokeswoman said: "The ward remains closed to new admissions due to diarrhoea and vomiting and will remain closed over the weekend.

"Again we would appeal to members of the public that if they or anyone they live with has had symptoms they please refrain from attending any hospital or care home settings."
