A luxury home and body care brand has opened a store in the Eastgate shopping centre today.

Global brand Rituals is hosting a soft launch today (March 23), with the main launch happening on Saturday March 25, where customers will receive free gifts when they come to see the new shop.

The Inverness store is the seventh store to open in Scotland, and for area manager Nicola Whitaker, it was important to take the Rituals brand to the Highland capital.

Speaking at the store, she said: “We want everyone to know about Rituals, and we want to have a store in every key location – we see Inverness as a key location.

“I used to work alongside Debenhams in Inverness so I know the customer is there and that they will love the experience we are going to give them.

“Rituals is something different. We have got our water island where we do our hand massages, and show people how the scrubs and hand lotions are used, so they can have a real experience when they come into the shop.”

With each element of the shop being based on different rituals from different countries, customers can be transported to a feeling of calm or energy through the range of aromas.

Ms Whitaker added: “Our Ritual of Sakura comes from Japan and is all about new beginnings, hence why we have the cherry blossom tree in here to signify that.

“If someone comes in to buy someone a gift for a new home or a new baby, we would take them to this product as it signifies those new beginnings.”

Rituals stocks products ranging from candles to shower gels to bath robes to men’s products, and it also has its own skincare and haircare range.

“We do tea as part of our tea ceremony throughout the day, which is really nice and allows the customer to take a bit longer in the store to relax and browse”, added Ms Whitaker.

Inverness store manager, Holly Anderson has previously been working at the Rituals store in Edinburgh, but is originally from the Black Isle.

She said: “When I heard we were opening the store in Inverness, I was very happy as I wanted to come back home.

“I am really excited about being part of the opening of Rituals here, and I think people will love what we are offering.”
