Gael Force are now the main sponsors of North Kessock’s new rowing club.

The North Kessock Rowing Club was founded back in October 2022 as a result of having no community sport in North Kessock in which all members could participate.

Until now, North Kessock was the only village around the Black Isle which did not have its own coastal rowing club.

After an inaugural meeting in the village hall the club was started and a steering committee was formed to help drive the concept forward, with the remit of getting everyone interested and also to fundraise.

They have been trying to fundraise money for the club having held a pub quiz in the village with another one planned for the end of March and they plan to have a car wash once there is better weather.

The club has been heavily pushed for by founder Keith Brill, who is hoping this club will help bring the community closer together. Keith stated the club “would like to include absolutely everybody from the village to get out on the water.

“This includes youngsters, people disabled physically and with sensory snags, old folk and especially poor souls with mental health problems.”

They approached Gael Force Marine hoping they would become the clubs main sponsor, which they happily agreed to. Marc Wilson, Group Marketing Manager at Gael Force Group, said “This is a brilliant initiative from Keith Brill and the team to bring a positive contribution to the local community.

“Our expertise in marine equipment coupled with the fact that we are just across the Firth meant we were only too delighted to support North Kessock Rowing Club with the donations and help them get going. We look forward to growing our partnership and helping them succeed in the future.”
