Inverness Cycle Studio is owned by Drew Milne and Scot Murray who said it was important to them to support a local charity.

The studio will have collection tins so customers can make donations as they please and charges for water during classes will also be donated to the hospice.

The studio opened this month and offers a range of classes seven days a week to suit both beginners and more experienced cyclists.

Mr Murray said the hospice has meant a lot to both him and Mr Milne.

“It was important to us to pick a charity that was local and we could see the benefits that the hospice provide,” he said.

“Both of us have done a bit of work with the charity over the years – I did their 500 mile cycle and Drew has done a number of fundraising events for them. It’s great to support them.”

The pair are also supporting the hospice’s popular Strictly Inverness dance competition by renting bikes to competitors for use in fundraising activities.

Highland Hospice’s corporate fundraiser Karen Duff said: “It is fantastic to see such a great fitness idea up and running in the Eastgate Shopping Centre, and we are so grateful to be supported in this way.

“We are really looking forward to working with the Cycle Studio over the next few months – if you haven’t checked it out yet, get along and see for yourself how great it is!”
