Johanna Wallace has joined Highlands and Islands Airports (HIAL) as its new finance and commercial director.

She is responsible for managing all aspects of the group’s finances, including business development, procurement and property management.

The former finance director at Vets Now is experienced in a broad range of sectors, including manufacturing, brewing and oil and gas.

“I’m delighted to be part of such a highly valued organisation as Highlands and Islands Airports Limited,” she said. “Having grown up in the Highlands, I appreciate the challenges of our more remote communities and the crucial services HIAL provides to ensure people remain connected.

“I’m looking forward to returning to live and work in the area and joining the team at HIAL.”

HIAL’s managing director, Inglis Lyon, said: “I’m pleased to welcome Johanna to HIAL’s senior management team.

“Johanna’s extensive knowledge and experience in finance and commerce will not only contribute significantly to HIAL’s future strategy, but will assist us to address the challenges we currently face as we continue to deal with the effects of Covid.”

Meanwhile, the security team at Inverness Airport has raised £600 for MFR’s Cash for Kids appeal. They also donated £100 worth of toys to the cause prior to Christmas.

The team at Inverness Airport plans to continue supporting the appeal.
