THE first of a series of events planned to help the local community in Nairn is set to start at the end of the month.

The Nairn Drop-In Community Hub will be held on the last Thursday of every month, starting on June 30, with the aim to help locals understand what community led support is available to them

Drop-in sessions will be held at Nairn Library on the High Street from 9.30am to 12.30pm.

Pamela Roberts, Nairn enablement and care at home manager from NHS Highland said: “We want to ensure our community our listened to and supported. We’ve a range of people and services who will be at the Nairn drop-in each month to not only provide information on support available but also let them know what is happening in their local area.”

Members of Health and Social Care will also be in attendance.

The aim is for the Hub to help the local community in getting them the information and advice they need in order to remain in their own home, help them find support, such as equipment, transport or help at home, to allow them to stay independent, and provide advice for carers about support available to them in the area.

The event will be a drop-in session which will allow people to come along at a time that suits them and chat to those in attendance.
