A NEW fish and chips takeaway is set to open in Inverness tomorrow, June 1.

Dougie’s Chippy is located in the premises of former Millburn Road take-away next to KFC, which went up for sale in August last year.

In a post shared on Facebook it's said that it will be a new family-run business under the former head fryer and manager from the Conon Bridge takeaway.

It said: "With all your support, honesty, co-operation and help, I promise to deliver results, quality, laughs and service that will be unmatched. I look forward to meeting lots of new faces."

The building has previously operated as two inter-connecting units comprising fish and chips and Chinese takeaways near the busy Raigmore Interchange.

They will also offer home delivery and they are setting up to work through the major delivery platforms.
