Ness Factor contestant Garry Clark is 'delighted' with successful Beauly Co–op fundraiser day.

Beauly local Garry Clark held the fundraiser day in aid of Highland Hospice on August 26, where he has raised an estimated £280.

Garry Clark is competing in this year's Ness Factor to raise funds for the charity – by taking part in a fundraising battle of singers for a chance to perform at Belladrum 2024.

Garry, who has already held three other fundraising events, said: "It was a really good day, people were very generous, and lots of Beauly locals came. Nearly everyone in the Co–op stopped to donate, it was great.

"I've done a rough count, and I think we raised £280, I'm delighted with how it went."

The Beauly contestant works as a funeral director, but after his vocal coaching from Fiona Forbes, he has been 'really enjoying' the singing, after already completing two group performances that went 'really well'.

Speaking about why he decided to enter the Ness Factor, Garry said: "Because everyone knows somebody who has been affected by cancer directly or indirectly. Services like the Highland Hospice rely on funding too, so that's why I'm doing it."

Garry's previous coffee morning and family fun day event raised roughly £16000, and his other pub fundraiser event raked in £900.
