Ness Bridge in the centre of Inverness is expected to fully re-open today.

A Highland Council spokesman confirmed the road bridge, closed in one direction since mid-April for essential inspection and repair works, is scheduled to return to normal traffic flow at 1pm.

Work remained on going this morning.

The eastbound lane was initially closed until April 22, reopening between April 23 and May 16 before closing again from May 17 to May 26.

Between April 23 and May 16, the westbound lane was closed.
