AVENGERS Thor and Nebula are battling it out in the Twittersphere – with Inverness-based charity Mikeysline hoping to benefit.

Invernessian Hollywood star Karen Gillan – who plays Nebula in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – is once again taking part in a one-of-a-kind online fantasy football league, which sees the biggest superhero stars jokingly "trash talk" and try to out-compete each other for charity.

Presented by FanDuel, the AGBO Superhero League contest has seen 14 of the biggest names in the Marvel world - both in front and behind the camera - sign up to compete to "settle their scores".

As well as Karen Gillan, the likes of Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Chris Pratt (Star Lord) and Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) are just some of those taking part.

And with a $1 million prize pool up for grabs, there's a lot at stake for their chosen charities.

Karen Gillan, who is an ambassador for the Highland-based mental health and suicide-prevention charity Mikeysline, has once again opted to try to raise funds for the cause.

And, in her latest weekly 'battle', she has been given the challenge of 'taking down' the Son of Odin himself, Thor star Chris Hemsworth.

To throw a little added creativity into the mix, she has chosen to roast her rival in the form of a song - "Hemsy's Going Down!".

Putting her 'new single' online via Twitter, she said: "Just dropped my new single “Hemsy’s Going Down”!! I am playing in the @agboleague fantasy football charity league again for my charity @mikeysline_ and thanks to @fanduel there is a $1M prize pool up for grabs. @chrishemsworth you are going DOWN. #AGBOSuperheroLeague."

In her tongue-in-cheek post, she jokes "I'm gonna beat your *** at the game I barely know the rules of", before ultimately signing off her tune and post with the comment: "I don' t know why I called him Hemsy, I've never called him that before. I don't really know him well enough to be giving him nicknames like that."

And her tune has won fans among the league's own Twitter account, with AGBO Superhero League posting: "We can't stop listening to this new bop from Karen Gillan. Sounds like 'Hemsy' is going down in fantasy football this week..."
