Boxer Carl Frampton settles legal action with former manager

Boxer Carl Frampton has settled his legal battle with his former manager Barry McGuigan.
The case was due to resume in Belfast’s High Court on Thursday.
Mr Frampton was suing his ex-manager and Cyclone Promotions for alleged withheld earnings.
Mr McGuigan claimed against the Belfast boxer for breach of contract after their partnership ended in 2017.
Both men deny the allegations against them.
The Lord Chief Justice’s Office said the dispute was settled on terms agreed between the parties, adding: “The proceedings have therefore concluded.”
Mr Frampton said: “The terms of the settlement are confidential between the parties and the court, but I can say that I am extremely happy with them, and welcome the fact that the legal dispute has now ended.”
He added: “I am glad that this chapter of my life is now behind me and my focus now, as always, remains on becoming a three-weight world champion in 2021.”
He said the past three and a half years were “difficult but necessary”.
“I want to also pay tribute to my fans, my friends and my family who stood by me and supported me throughout.”
