THE chair of the popular Nairn Book and Arts Festival will be launching the paperback of his debut novel with a Q&A session in Inverness.

Author of The Second Sight of Zachary Cloudesley, Sean Lusk, will be at Waterstones in the Eastgate Centre to celebrate the paperback version of the novel with the audience.

The book was published last year and has since been named as a Sunday Times' historical novel of the month, it was shortlisted for debut of the year in the Scottish Book Awards and made the longlist for the Walter Scott Prize.

Talking about the success of his novel, Mr Lusk said: "It's been an exciting journey to see my debut novel out in the world.

"And while great press reviews and prize nominations have given me a huge confidence-boost, the best thing of all has been to hear from readers who have got in touch to say they loved the book or a particular character, or even that they saw something in the story that I didn't even see myself!"

The author will answer questions about the journey to becoming an author and talk about the rabbit holes of historical research and his own background.

The free event will be hosted on May 11 at Waterstones Inverness from 6pm.
