A NAIRN primary school and nursery has been closed temporarly by Covid the Highland Council confirmed today. (Tuesday March 22)

Parents and carers of children attending Rosebank Primary School and Nursery, which has a roll of 324 near the town centre were informed it was not opening for Covid related reasons.

They are asked to phone 0800 564 2272 to get the latest message from the head teacher and have the school's PIN ready when making the call.

It is understood to be temporarily closed as staff members are following public health advice to self-isolate.

Kingussie High School is partially closed today (Tuesday) due to Covid , being open to S4-S6.

The Scottish government's daily Covid figures says there were 9,533 new cases across the country on Monday.

On the same day, 2,128 people were in hospital with recently confirmed Covid, and 31 people were in intensive care with the virus.
