A NAIRN residents group is organising a fun day out with picnic and entertainment this weekend.

On Saturday, July 22 the Queenspark Residents' Group will be hosting a picnic in the park – with people able to bring their own picnic or reserve one of the picnic boxes made available by the association.

This will be part of educational charity Eden Project's Communities' Big Lunch and the organisers are hoping to get as many locals involved as possible and create a space for community members to get to know one another better.

On the day there will be stalls, a tombola, a raffle and displays from some fantastic local groups as well as live music from Donald Wilson & the Nairn Speldings, Susanna Wolfe, D.W.R and Penguin's Tuxedo.

After lunch, Nairn Active Schools Leaders will be on hand to organise some outdoor games.

There will also be a "Big Sweep" clean-up at the end of the picnic to leave the park unspoiled.

The picnic will be hosted at Riverside Park on Mill Road and will run from 12pm to 4pm.

More information about the event are available on the event's page.
