A Nairnshire man has been put on the Sex Offenders' Register for indecently assaulting a woman.

Stuart Bissett (56) carried out the attack on May 2 this year, Inverness Sheriff Court heard.

The court was told that he cornered the woman and asked her for "just one kiss", touched her on the hips and groin and seized her buttock.

The police were then called and Bissett, a former construction worker of Moss-Side Brae, Nairn, was later arrested and charged.

He told police: "I know I was inappropriate. I'm sorry."

Sheriff Sara Matheson imposed a £300 fine and put him on the Sex Offenders' Register for a period of five years.
